Future of Michigan Hinges on Court Election

By James Muffett, CTV President

"The future of Michigan's Supreme Court may very well be dependent on whether or not conservative Christians go to the polls and vote their values." - James Muffett, President of CTV & Chairman of CCC

Dear Friends,

As we approach Tuesday, November 4, 2008, I am seized with a sense of urgency. Throughout my 20 plus years in politics, I have come to know and value the importance of what some call "values voters." As in the 2004 Presidential election, it is a proven fact that they do impact elections, especially when the margins are very small. Therefore, we must not let apathy or indifference take hold.

What is at stake for this Supreme Court election is the future of Michigan - especially regarding our treatment of two very important issues: the value of life and the sanctity of the traditional nuclear family. The State Courts throughout the nation have done more damage in these areas than either the federal or state legislatures - as important as they are.

Please join my staff and me as we solemnly humble ourselves before God and ask for His mercy not only on our nation, but our state as well.

Here are suggestions for action between now and November 4.

  1. Please take this information and forward it to your pastor and everyone else on your list today, as time is short. Ask them to simply remind their congregation of the vital importance of this election and how important a conservative justice system is to the preservation of our values.

  2. Spread the word about Cliff Taylor far and wide. The Supreme Court nominees will be listed on the non-partisan part of the ballot, which people often overlook. People must vote on every section of their ballot.

  3. Join our weekly election Conference Calls on Tuesdays (grassroots) at 4:00 PM or Wednesdays (Supreme Court) at 11:00 AM. Just call 218-936-7979 and enter the access code 783730#. You may invite others as well.

Standing up for what you believe in is always a worthy endeavor! Let us do our duty as citizens as part of our duty to God!

Fighting with you,

James Muffett
