Create your own email list of friends. When you come across action items in our
emails, or through other sources, or perhaps crucial emails that they should
know about ... forward it to them and ask them to do the same!

From The Pews to the Polls Program
Get Your Church Involved: Educate & Activate Them!
Become a Church Liaison How about taking a servant position in your church as a Church Liaison.
Here is a brochure to tell you how! The goal of this position is to have someone in each church that
serves as an education conduit between organizations such as CTV and church
families. Many families are busy and don't have the time to follow issues, or
know where to go to register to vote, etc - but you can help them by putting
info at their finger tips!

Form an "Issues & Action Group" in Your Church! Check out this brochure done by some friends of ours who have done the same thing and made it a great success of ministry not only to their congregation but others as well.
Ask for a Meeting with Your Pastor
Make sure to share your heart and vision with the pastor before proceeding on
anything. If we are going to preserve Judeo-Christian values in the culture, it has to start with us! And our Pastors! Take info on a Pastor’s “Legal Dos & Don’ts” for political engagement. And ask for a meeting with him/her. Ask that they would let you post legislative updates on the bulletin board, form an Issues & Action Team and encourage them to address from the pulpit the importance of government and praying for our authorities.
Host a Citizenship Sunday
Find out more about hosting a Citizenship Sunday! It's an opportunity for you to encourage
and promote responsible Christian citizenship at your church and with your church families.
Register Voters
Are you especially interested in helping us register voters in your area? Whether as part of a
Citizenship Sunday, or as a
Church Liaison, or
simply done by itself or in conjunction with another group or event, let
us know if you want to help people register, and we'll help you learn how and get the materials you need.
Legal Do's &
Don'ts for Churches & Pastors (this role is completely legit with IRS)

Attend or Host a Grassroots Event in Your Area!
Here are some of the events you could do in your area, as a service to your
friends and neighbors, that we can help you with!
Citizens in Action Grassroots Training Seminar: We'll tell you what to do,
how to do it, and how to be an effective activist! (see
sample flyer)
Greatest Story Never Told seminar: This is a seminar that teaches about
the religious foundation for our nation and the importance of our involvement
today for the next generation. It's an event that is especially liked in the
church communities.
Candidate Forum: Host an information forum for your community where they
can gather to hear positions of the candidates
Pastor's Breakfast: Provide a free breakfast for pastors to network, hear
from groups such as ours on what crucial issues are in the culture and how to
best serve their own church family with this information. We'll teach them the
legal do's and don'ts of political involvement and explain to them there really
is NO "separation of church & state" in the constitution!
Constitution Class: We can help direct you to people that are equipped to
educate you on the constitution!
High school Students: Biblical Worldview, leadership and civics
involvement training. Phenomenal! Check out our sister organization,
Student Statesmanship Institute and the
impact they have had on hundreds and thousands of teens around Michigan.

Grassroots Area Team Strategy Meeting: We will meet with your small group
to help you best determine how to educate and mobilize your area. Consider it
grassroots consulting!

Run for Precinct Delegate or Local Office
Start at the Local Level Especially after the 2008 Election, we need fresh, new strong conservatives
running for leadership in Michigan. Have you ever thought of running for a local
race, i.e. county commissioner? The political system starts at the bottom and
moves up.
Download this brochure and pass it around.
Precinct Delegate
Find out more about becoming a Precinct Delegate! Help your party on a local level by attending county conventions, assisting candidates and helping run events.

YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS
Remember elected officials work for you!
But do they know how to represent you on issues? Are they staying true to what
they promised you when you voted for them? Did you vote? Are you letting them
know when you appreciate an action, or just criticizing when they do something
wrong?
As privileged citizens, it is important that we pray for our leaders, respect
them & communicate with and get to know them. You'll be surprised at how
most of them really do listen to their constituents!
Write Letters to the Editor: people do watch what
people on writing about! It gives a good pulse as to what the general public
thinks on an issue!
Get to know who your local officials are:
State Senator, State Representative, County Commissioners, Mayor etc
And then track down all their contact info so it's easy and at your finger tips
when you need to call them 'on speed dial' to let them know what you think about
an issue. Remember they represent you!
Attend Committee Hearings or Legislative Sessions in Lansing!
Anyone can track legislation, find out when the committee is meeting
and come listen in. You can submit a card which might allow you to speak to
committee members.
