Who Should Attend
Are you a candidate who is considering a run for local, state or federal office? Are you campaign staff who wants to know how to drive your candidate to victory? Are you a grassroots leader that wants to better understand the life of the candidate so you can help them more effectively get elected, to be a voice for your values? Are you an experienced politician seeking a better understanding of how to work with traditional values voters and groups?

This year you have two tracks to choose from and we ask you to indicate your choice below. Attendees will not have the option of going back and forth between tracks but there will be a couple seminars combined.

Candidates and Teams:
Are you a candidate who is considering a run for local, state or federal office? Or are you campaign staff who wants to know how to drive your candidate to victory? Or a spouse who plans to work alongside your candidate?

Judicial Leadership:
Are considering a run for a Judicial seat? Join us! We'll explore the importance of the constitution; how to govern without checking our values at the door as decision makers; we'll also provide you communication strategies and much more. Our regular campaign school will be specifically designed to incorporate potential Judicial candidates as well as those running for Legislative or local offices. State and Local Leaders:
If you are an experienced politician seeking a better understanding of how to work with the church community and articulate the issues most important to them, you don’t want to miss this school. Come learn how to engage your pastor and effectively serve the audience he represents.

Grassroots and Citizen Leaders
If you are interested in obtaining an advanced training as grassroots leaders, you definitely want to attend this weekend seminar! Use the knowledge you learn to help recruit, support and elect a local leaders for your local governments; obtain helpful insight and strategy for winning on local issues; and start to understand the Judicial process and how to identify rule of law vs empathy Judges.

Our 2011 Speakers & Seminars
Keynote Speaker: Matt Robbins from American Majority

Our featured speaker will be Matt Robbins, the National Executive Director for American Majority.

American Majority, led by Ned Ryun (son to former Congressman Jim Ryun) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that identifies conservative candidates for public office, and trains activists to be more effective. American Majority has trained nearly 20,000 individuals within three years in its efforts to create a true “farm team” for the Right.

Previously, Matt was the political director for the California Republican Party, the largest Republican state party in the United States. He has also served as a Coalitions director on McCain-Palin 2008 and as the Director of Training at the Leadership Institute. Matt has personally trained thousands of political activists nationwide and in several foreign countries on campaign management, communications and party and candidate development.

Additionally, Matt has worked as a “friendly-fire” analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, as campaign staff on Bush-Cheney 2004, and in both state-level races and state government. Matt is also a founding partner in a grassroots advocacy firm, where he helped clear the Supreme Court nominations of Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito.

Matt is an Arkansas native and holds a degree in English from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

CTV President: James Muffett

James Muffett, Founder and President of Student Statesmanship Institute, and sister organization Citizens for Traditional Values, has been active in Michigan's public arena for over 25 years. Married to Margot since 1979, a father of 5, former pastor, nationally recognized spokesperson for traditional family values in Michigan, statewide organizational leader, and passionate citizen - he brings an experienced view and vibrant vision to Michigan’s cultural landscape.

His perspective on how the Bible, history of our nation, current times, and future tie together inspires everyone, leading them into effective cultural engagement - whether running for office, educating their church or simply enhancing their appreciation of our religious freedom. His motivational speaking inspires and trains leaders for this and the next generation.

James was featured in “With God On Their Side,” a national PBS television special documenting Christian involvement in politics, and has been cited by The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, CNN, NPR and CBN.

James' Sessions Will Include material on 
Laying the Foundation and he'll address:
 - America's real history (not what you hear on the news) and God's role in its establishment. He'll use history's truth to frame the discussion for the rest of the school.
 - He will also define true conservatism: many "on the right" do not understand the real ingredients of conservatism and why understanding the roots of this great
   movement is knowledge we must master to be victorious for our cause. James will offer suggested resources for you to delve deeper into the subject after you leave.
 - And it's important to understand exactly why - in the framework of politics, and running for office - honoring the constitution matters.
 - Matt will join James at the end of this segment: He'll help you understand how the Left (or Liberals) 'do it' and win.

Money: Fundraising & Campaign Reporting

Counting the Cost: Considering Costs, other than money, on what is needed to run for office. Is it good now for you, your family and your responsibilities?

Issue Panel: Featuring experts from the Education, Family and Life arenas. They will bring you up to speed on the issues, what is currently being addressed in the legislature and how these issues - of moral and family matters - influence the economy. Learn how to speak your personal values to the secular arena!

Tracks to Choose From:
 

PLA Campaign School  - This is our feature school, offered every other year, regarded statewide as the seminar to best train you as a conservative on how to win on the ballot! This is designed for the legislative, judicial or local candidate, potential candidate and candidate support staff (or spouse). We'll bring you expertise from national and statewide leaders on what to consider when counting the cost of a campaign; fundraising and communication techniques; how to write a campaign plan; how to be a constitution-minded lawmaker; how to address the latest conservative issues and much more!

Local Leadership Program  - This is a new track we're presenting for the first time this year. It's a mega advanced grassroots leadership school on how to win the local seats of government, how to address local ballot initiatives that involve traditional family values, how to understand the all-important Judicial system and how to identify the worldviews of Judges. We'll teach you tactics, direct you to resources and and help you be a better leader in your community. *Space is very limited for this segment*

Cost, Venue & Lodging

Cost: The registration is $89.00 per person; no group rate applies.
The weekend seminar runs from early Friday evening until late Saturday afternoon. The rate of $89.00 provides you snacks Friday evening, light breakfast refreshments, snacks and beverages during the day Saturday and lunch. You will also be equipped with a binder of materials.

Academy Location: We are excited to feature a local college this year in Lansing, Michigan, Great Lakes Christian College!

In 2009, our bi-annual campaign school was the best yet! And this year promises to be even better! Over 70 attendees joined us in 2009. Traveling from all over Michigan, these leaders wanted to run for office themselves, or help get others elected or even just understand how a campaign works.
